שנתיים (וקצת) אחרי אלבום הבכורה המצליח, ששיגר את אלקטרה למסע של מאות הופעות ברחבי הארץ, ארה"ב ואירופה, קנה לה קהל אוהדים נלהב ואין ספור השמעות כאן ומעבר לים- אלקטרה ארזו את התקופה הסוערות, העמוסה והמרגשת בחייהם, לאלבום חדש.
14 קטעים יש ב- Second Hand Love. יש בו את כל מה שקנה לאלקטרה את שמה: היכולת לנסח בשירי רוקנרול צבעוניים של 3 דקות עולם מסעיר של דרייב, תנופה וכריזמה, עם עושר הפקתי ולחנים פופיים מפתים. מעבר לסימן ההיכר של הלהקה - Second Hand Love לוקח צעד קדימה, ולצדדים.
חלק מהאלבום נכתב בארה"ב, וחלקו נולד בתהליך עבודה "כמו פעם"- כשהטריו הסתגר למשך חודשיים באולפני אנובה, וביקש להתנסות בעבודה מסוג שונה, ספונטנית. האלבום מציג השפעות חדשות שחברי הלהקה צברו בדרכים. מהידהודים של סרף ומוזיקה ספרדית (Start All Over), עד כלי מיתר בייבוא אישי מהסיקסטיז (Time and Place), מ- Pאנק ניו יורקי אפלולי (Chains) ועד בלוז (שיר 12 באלבום. השם שלו ארוך מדי כדי לשים בסוגריים). איך שהוא עדיין אי אפשר לטעות בכך שזו אלקטרה, והקול הלגמרי ייחודי שלה בנוף המקומי.
מלבד המפיק הקבוע ברוך בן יצחק, בילו יחד עם ניצן חורש, דורון פרחי ובועז וולף בעבודת האולפן גם רן שם טוב, אמילי קרפל, רועי פרייליך ועוד חברים, שתרמו נגיעות של סטייל ואיכות. התוצאה היא אלבום שלם, משוחרר ורב גוונים, של להקה בשלה שמרגישה בטוחה וסקרנית להרחיב את הטריטוריות שלה. להגיד שאלקטרה התבגרה יהיה קצת משעמם, והאלבום הזה הוא הכל חוץ ממשעמם: הוא המסיבה, הוא ההנגאובר שלה, והוא עוד קפיצת מדרגה בדרך ממועדוני תל אביב אל העולם.

A little over two years since their successful debut album that launched Electra into hundreds of shows throughout Israel, Europe and the US, established a wide and passionate fan base, and secured countless radio plays both here and across the pond- Electra bundled the tremolos, jam packed and exiting period of their lives into a 14-track long new album called "Second Hand Love".
The album presents everything that gained Electra their reputation: the ability to phrase in colorful 3 minute rocknroll tunes an exciting world packed full in drive, energy and charisma, with lavish production and seductively poppy melodies. Apart from the band’s trademark "Second Hand Love" takes one step forward, and to the side.
A few of the tracks were written in the U.S, and some were born in an "old fashioned" process – as the trio shut themselves in Anova studios for months on end seeking a different form of experience, spontaneous work. The album introduces new influences that the band attained on the road, from Surf and Spanish twang to string melodies imported from the sixties, dark New York Punk to Blues but it's still unmistakably Electra, with their entirely unique voice in the local scene.
Apart from regular producer Baruch Ben Izhak, some more friends joined Nitzan Horesh, Doron Farhi and Boaz Wolf. Chums like Roey Frielich, Ran Shem Tov and Emily Karpel; they contributed caresses of their personal style and quality. The result is a whole album, uninhibited and chromatic, of a ripe mature band that seeks to expand their musical territory.
To say that Electra "grew up" would be a bore, and this album is anything but a bore, it’s the party, it’s the party’s hangover and it’s a hop skip out of Tel Aviv's clubs into the world.
