Formed in 2021, Alligator Ladies is the musical love child of Ben Avgay (Silvi Jan) and Eden Atiya (Rasco)—two artists who crossed paths in 2020 and quickly discovered a shared love for garage rock, freak folk, and all things mystical. Drawing inspiration from acts like Ramases & Selket, Thee Oh Sees, Ty Segall, and MGMT, the duo channeled their chemistry into a raw, vibrant sound they describe as a “two-headed musical monster,” fusing swirling guitars, fantastical lyrics, and a mischievous spark.

Their self-titled debut album took shape in a home studio, where Eden’s songwriting and Ben’s production skills combined to create tracks that sit comfortably on the fringe of what’s familiar. The Alligator Ladies’ offbeat approach has already earned them global attention, with airplay on BBC 6’s Riley & Coe Show (UK), WYEP (US), and Germany’s Fritz. On Spotify, they’ve been highlighted in influential playlists such as Best Stoner, Doom, Sludge, Psychedelia 2025, New Alt Rock 2025, and Neo-Psychedelia, underscoring a cross-genre appeal that continues to grow. Their track “Eeee wow!” also secured a coveted spot on the upcoming Netflix series Bad Boy, due out in 2025—a testament to the band’s ever-increasing momentum.

The first single, “Crazy Magician Man,” introduced listeners to their signature brew of heavy riffs and freak-folk flourishes. It was one of the first songs we played together and thought, ‘this is it.’ We listened to a lot of Black Sabbath but also freak-folk from the ‘70s to mold these two genres together,” the band says of that initial release. Now, Alligator Ladies are gearing up to drop their third single, “Earth Boy,” on January 30th, offering what they call “a left turn into heavier, intense sound, blending early Indie, 90’s garage, and psych. Find the song within the song.”
